The price of DRAM memory chips is expected to fall as Samsung builds new plants with won 30 trillion
Samsung electronics confirms that a new semiconductor factory is being built in the Korean capital of gyeongeze, and it's based on market demand for memory chips, NAND Flash, and all kinds of memory chips. Samsung currently has a large factory in the city of pyeongtaek, which starts producing 64 layers of NAND Flash particles in mid-2017, and can also be used to produce DRAM memory particles. The factory's initial investment of 15.6 trillion won is expected to reach 30 trillion won by 2021.
The new plant, known as P2 Project, is not far from the old factory, with a reported investment of 30 trillion won, but it is unclear whether it is a preliminary investment or a total investment.
